Overview

The M24 Inductive Proximity Sensor is a robust industrial-grade solution designed for heavy-duty metal detection. With a generous 10mm-15mm sensing range and flexible 2-wire/3-wire configurations, this sensor delivers exceptional stability in challenging environments. Engineered to withstand temperatures from -30°C to +65°C, it provides reliable, non-contact positioning for various metallic targets, available in both shielded (flush) and unshielded (non-flush) mounting types to suit your specific mechanical requirements.

Feature

Superior Sensing Intelligence: Integrated with a high-speed processing chip, the sensor offers rapid response times and advanced anti-interference logic, ensuring precise detection even in electrically noisy industrial settings.

Versatile Control Logic: Supports multiple output modes including NPN/PNP (NO/NC) and 2-wire DC systems, providing maximum compatibility with high-speed automation and diverse PLC architectures.

Intuitive Visual Diagnostics: Features a high-visibility Red LED indicator that provides real-time status feedback. This simplifies on-site installation, debugging, and routine maintenance monitoring.

Extreme Environment Durability: Built with a rugged, IP67-rated housing, the M24 sensor is fully resistant to vibration, dust, water, and oil. It is the ideal maintenance-free alternative to mechanical limit switches in harsh outdoor or factory conditions.

Integrated Circuit Safety: Equipped with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection, the sensor safeguards your control system against wiring errors, ensuring long-term operational reliability across a wide voltage range.

Product FAQ

Can the M24 inductive proximity switch detect non-metallic objects? +
No. This is an inductive-type sensor, specifically designed for metallic target detection. It provides maximum sensitivity for magnetic metals (like iron and steel). While it can detect non-magnetic metals (like aluminum or brass), the sensing distance will be reduced. For non-metallic materials like plastic, glass, or liquid, we recommend using a capacitive proximity sensor.
Does the DC 3-wire version include polarity protection, and is it PLC-compatible? +
Yes. Our M24 DC 3-wire series comes standard with integrated reverse polarity and short-circuit protection to prevent damage from wiring errors. The NPN/PNP output logic is fully compatible with industrial PLC digital input modules. With a wide operating voltage of 6–36V DC, it ensures seamless integration into most automated control systems.
Is the M24 sensor suitable for outdoor use, and what extra protection is needed? +
Yes. Rated at IP67, this sensor is fully sealed against dust and water, making it suitable for standard outdoor conditions including rain and high humidity. For extreme industrial environments—such as high-pressure washdowns, constant exposure to abrasive dust, or direct sea spray—we recommend installing a protective sleeve or shield to further extend the sensor's operational lifespan.
